Tuesday 18th May 2pm-3.30pm : Zoom online event

North Ayrshire Council’s Business Team invites you to attend this exciting event for our Family Business Sector. At this event Martin and Russ will briefly introduce themselves and how they came to be collaborating on one of the biggest projects yet in the world of family business. A significant part of their project relates to the place of family businesses in communities and society as a whole.

They will then explore together why and how family businesses hold communities together, and what might be possible as we hopefully emerge from the Covid restrictions to position family businesses as the most important pillar of both economic and community strength and stability in the future.

Martin Stepek is one of the pioneers of family business support in Scotland. He ran his own family’s business before co-founding the Scottish Family Business Association. He has written and spoken extensively on the subject. Aside from his family business work he is an acclaimed teacher of mindfulness, an author and poet.

Russ Haworth is a specialist family business adviser and host of the widely acclaimed Family Business Podcast, which is supported by the London-based Institute for Family Business. As well as helping family-owned businesses with their unique challenges he is also a speaker at national and International conferences.
