2020 is a big year at Silverstone Racetrack, with F1 celebrating its 70th anniversary. They are also building a new trackside hotel and footbridge over the Circut this year.
J&D Pierce have been tasked with the design and build of the structural steelwork to form the new enclosed footbridge over the racetrack at Silverstone – the home of British Motor Racing.
This will connect the new 197 bedroom Hilton hotel that is scheduled to be built trackside, to the main paddock area. The hotel is scheduled to be open this year. The bridge will link the five-storey hotel to the Silverstone Wing and its dining, conference and event facilities.
The scope of works will include all of the bridge trusses and columns along with the metal decking, cladding, concrete deck and glass.
