North Ayrshire is open for business… and one of the Council’s key strategic locations could offer a company a new home.

That was the message this week as the Council continues its work to reenergise the local economy as Covid-19 restrictions loosen.

i3 – Scotland’s largest Life Science enterprise area – which includes Annickbank Innovation campus, is very much ready for business.

Sitting just on the outskirts of Irvine town centre, i3 is a key site for the ambitious Ayrshire Growth Deal proposals – and is already proving popular.

Annickbank has four, two-storey detached pavilions providing high quality, flexible, Class 4 office accommodation. In addition, the Council is currently preparing plans for a fifth pavilion circa 350 square metres supported by the Vacant and Derelict Land Fund, North Ayrshire Ventures Trust funding and the Council’s Investment Fund. The remainder of the site is being masterplanned for future phases.

Three of the four pavilions are occupied but there is still space available in the latest building. This is suitable for lab fit-out with additional clear heights and drainage provision. Discounted business rates are available for life science and related activities. To find out more please contact Graham and Sibbald https://www.g-s.co.uk/property/?property=38245

The location features on the Council’s new-look business website. Set up in 2020, the website now contains new features including information on potential inward investment sites and an events feed – keeping business owners up-to-date on the latest news, events and opportunities.

Branded ‘This is North Ayrshire’, the website and promotional film are part of a suite of marketing materials aimed at attracting inward investors to North Ayrshire.

A social media campaign will begin this week highlighting support available to local businesses and information for companies that space to let is available for those thinking about relocating or expanding in North Ayrshire.

Councillor Joe Cullinane, Leader of North Ayrshire Council, said: “I welcome the updated website promoting North Ayrshire as a great place for business.  It has been a worrying and unsettling time and we want to reassure our residents and businesses that we are here to support them. Whether that’s help with finding premises, securing grants or general business support advice, then our business team are available to help answer any questions.

“The website is just one resource that is available to our local businesses or potential inward investors, it’s a one-stop shop providing advice and up-to-date information on news and events. One of the sites available to let is Annickbank Innovation Campus in Irvine. This is a key part of our drive to maximise the enterprise potential for the area in attracting investment and creating jobs and prosperity.

“Our i3 enterprise area also benefits from Ayrshire Growth Deal investment of up to £21 million to create modern advanced manufacturing space and to create a regionally significant and nationally recognised centre of excellence in Digital Automation.

The new inward investment website is www.thisisnorthayrshire.co.uk and the film can be found on the Council’s YouTube channel by searching ‘This is North Ayrshire’.
